Kamden grinned over at the younger boy. But his hand was soon rubbing Karlyn's neck and upper shoulders.
"I would think that not many would be left standing this time around. After all with two gold's who will clutch soon." He replied. "I know that if I don't impress this time I'll won't be standing again... I'll just go and learn more about dragon healing."

"Oh you are learning about ragon healing" karlyn looked up at him. She ahd wanted to learn a bit about that but did not know who to talk to about it. Of course she did not know that much about dragons either.
Kamden's hands felt warm and soft against her skin and Karlyn took a moment to reposition herself so that her back now faced him. She was enjoying his company and Eklutna's as well though Ek seemed to be quiet now. "What are we to do on rest days when we get them" she asked no one inparticular. She wanted so much to go see the ocean and maybe take a swim.

"I don't know. I think I did enough wondering around for a while." Eklutna stated. He didn't know what he'll do. He didn't know the Weyr well, and well, he really didn't want to get lost. One thing he didn't want to do, was cook. He didn't want to be a cook for rest of his life! It was the only thing he was able to do quite well.

Kamden grinned seeing as he could now have full access to her back. He began rubbing it slowly working out any kinks the girl might have. He was also leaning very close to her..
"I have always liked working with the dragons." he said into her ear but loud enough for Eklutna to hear as well.. "I tried other things.. In a weyr you get to try your hand at almost everything... But I seem to have a knack with dragonhealing." his breath would be brushing into Karlyn's ear..

Kamden''s breath brushing by her ear made Karlyn shiver a bit but not pull away. His hands seemed to know exactly where her back needed them. She sighed a bit as her mucils relaxed under the pressure of his hands and the warmth of his skin. "I would have been a bit scared to be wandreing around all by myself for any length of time" she said turning her head to face Eklutna with a grin.
Leaning a bit farther back in to Kamden, Karlyn's back rested nearer his chest she felt like leaning in on him but wait jsut a bit longer. "I have had some experiance working in the kitchens at home but I am not all that great, and really I hav enot tried too many other things" she said with a laugh knowing if her family knew she was wasting time here in the common room with her friends instead of doing something else they woudl not be too happy.

Kamden nodded. "Yea I am not sure I would of liked being on my own. I like people to much."
He leaned back against the couch back and rubbed Karlyn's arms now sort of pulling her against him in a gentle way of course. he mustn't scare the girl after all... He smelt her hair slowly taking in the smell and feel of her.
"What was it like for you to be out there with no one not even a dragon around?"

"When I first wondered on my own, I wasn't expecting to get lost. So, I have no idea how long I was alone with Misa and Mies. They kept me company durning those times, and helping me hunt for some food we can easily eat." Eklunta commented about wondering.
He didn't feel much doing that anymore. He was really wanted to run away to a greenrider, but it didn't happen, and he got lost. Mies and Misa never saw him, and Eklutna had decided that perhaps that greenrider didn't want him anymore. He never saw him again, after all of those days spending wondering in Southern Continent. Now he was here, and hoping that he'll be fine here.

Slowly Karlyn leand agains Kamden she felt comfortable and relaxed, and his warmth behind her made it all right. She placed a hand on one of his absently tracing his hand with her fingers. "I am not sure I would have made it with or with out a fire lizard to help me" Karlyn said with a grin and in a way a compliment to her friend.
"I am glad that I never got lost, I would not have known what to do and I might not have even been around when the serch rider came, so I would not have been here, and here is a nice place" she told them as she leaned a little more into Kamden.

"Well, when I realised I was lost, I didn't want to go back home. I knew that they didn't really care about me." Eklutna added. He hated his foster parents, and that he had to work in the kitchen, as they thought it was for the best of him. He liked it here, and haven't yet knew anyone that knew what he did before he came here.

Karlyn looked up at Eklutna her head popping up quickly "That is horrible that your family did not care about you" she said her attention now on her friend. She did not know what to say about that. Never having meet any one who's family or any one in their hold did not care about them, she was shocked. "I am glad you came here" Karlyn said finally leaning back against Kamden again "I care about you and I would miss you if you just left one day."
She wanted tho think more ont he subject but her head ached a little, ignoring the slight headach she turned her head upwards and looked at Kamden "Would you mind addign a bit more wine to my empty glass" Karlyn asked sweetly and with a smile.

"Well, they were my foster family. I guess they changed when they had their own family." Eklutna said sadly, and quietly, not really liking them any more. He was an orphan, which Eklutna only knew his mother. He sipped more of his wine, and then saw that he was only half way through this one. Perhaps he was drinking slower now.

"Thats awful no one should be treated that way" Karlyn said reaching a hand over to Eklutna and laying it on his arm. She could not imagine a foster family treating atheir fosterlings that way. She like many of her hold had been fostered to other holds for a time shen she was younger, but never had she haeard of any one being treated that way. "I am sorry Eklutna that was not right of them" she said her eyes lingering on him for a moment before she returned them to the fire in the herth.
Karlyn wondered how many people he had told this too. Mostly likely not many she thought, and felt he was either influanced by the wine or tursted his present company to say such things. "Well now that you are here you do not ever have to leave" Karlyn's face beemed when she turned it back to Ek. Her smile was friendly and warm.

Kamden poured the last of the wine into her glass and sat as KAryln talked with Eklutna. "Karlyn's right no one should be treated like that. And you are here at the weyr now. We're your family." He said in a very reassuring voice.
His fingers however were rubbing Karlyn's lower back now. tracing up and down. He really didn't want to let the girl go.... not for a long time..

Karlyn let out a small happy sigh barly able to be heard. She leaned all the way back onto Kamden. He was warm and comfortable. She wanted to lean into him as far as she could. Her head still hurt a bit but the pain was going away, as she sipped the last glass of wine, and placed her head on his shoulder and he back up against his chest.
The urge to tilt herhead up and kiss him was pressing but she ignored it. instead she spoke to Eklutna "Thats right we are your family now, no matter where you came from before your home is here and so is your family" she said as she started to get a bit sleepy and snuggled closer to Kamden.
